I'm having an exmas money dilemma. With my leftover/saved cash for this month and the gift cash, I could get a TV, which would mean no more paying for cable I can't use, and being able to watch shows I miss and play my silly games. However, instead of the TV I could get a whole ton of little things I want, or just a few small things and save the rest for later.

The worst part about this is my extreme paranoia considering money. I wasn't frugal when I was younger, which I regret, but now it's turned around to being terrified of making a purchase upwards of $50, even though I know I'm financially secure at the moment. I'd like to have a TV, really, but unless I can find someone within walking/biking distance on craigslist (or who would be willing to drop off) who wants to sell a cheap, small set, I'm afraid I might still be stuck staring wistfully at the sets in wal-mart and then going off to buy yarn instead. Also, moving to AZ with hcolleen is still in my 'extremely hopeful yes' bracket for next year (as long as mom can afford the trip to help me move) and there is ample boobtoobage _hee there.

Advice? Anyone? *headdesks*

So Friday afternoon I got kidnapped by doombuggy and atalantapendrag who shipped me aaaaaaall the way from Dallas down to their den of doom and destruction (and hookas! And cats!) in Austin. I'm down here 'til the 23, and loving the trip already.

FRIDAY-

Driving. Lots of driving. There was a little trouble for them finding my place because I'm stupid with directions, but in the end, we managed to escape Dallas in good time. We got to Austin around 6, 7 on, hung out with a friend of theirs, and then 'Lanta and I were dropped off at her place for sleep and cats, plus McRibs for a Hogswatch feast.

SATURDAY -

Adventure! 'Lanta let me sleep in 'til 9:30, then we smoked delicious mangosteen shisha and watched the 2000 production of Jesus Christ Superstar. _{Rock me, sexy Jesus!} then we gathered ourselves up and went to Frank for the best sausages in the history of all things ever. We walked around downtown Austin a little, then bussed around to hit a couple stores. Alas, we stayed out a little later than we thought we would, and ended up bussing back in the dark, and missed the correct stop. So, we had a little extra adventuring on a bus with small children. But, we made it home, watched some excellent television, and smoked more delicious shisha before passing out in bliss. <3

TODAY-

Will be chinese food, more teevee and shisha, and tonight we're celebrating an early Christmas. More on that awesomeness later. I'm going to bask in the glow of shisha.

So, work last night was 70% misery, with a 20% increase in awesome.

I'll start with the awesome.

Erykah Badu came to the store tonight. Fab, right? I didn't recognize her until Manager K pointed it out (I have a problem with looking at people's faces for very long, and I rarely pay attention to what musicians look like. Fail on my part) She was very sweet, considering managers K and R were hassling her for autographs and photos, and I was still in stupid mode since the Dayquil hadn't kicked in, so I mostly just stood aside in mortified horror that I happened to be in the presence of greatness. She didn't even seem put off at the fact that I couldn't muster up the courage to tell her my name when she asked (Manger K stepped up nicely there). _{I really do think she's the bees knees. Not only is she a fabulous musician (cue long rant about how I am a failure at everything and she is so magnificent for taking her talent and doing something with it) but she rocks the house when it comes to community involvement.}

So, that was the awesome.
